Encapsulated in liposomes, it enhances iron absorption and minimizes oxidation, ensuring superior bioavailability and greater clinical effectiveness with fewer gastrointestinal side effects.
Liposomal coating protects the stomach lining, significantly reducing common issues like nausea, constipation, and metallic taste often associated with conventional iron supplements.
Provides standardized 8% iron purity for controlled dosing, making it suitable for both daily supplementation and targeted iron deficiency formulas.
Easily dispersible in water, ideal for functional foods, beverages, sachets, and powdered supplements requiring smooth solubility and neutral taste.
Free from GMOs, gluten, soy, and artificial additives, aligning with consumer demand for clean-label, vegan-friendly nutritional solutions.
Compatible with prenatal, pediatric, senior, and general wellness products targeting iron support, offering formulation flexibility across different supplement delivery formats.
Liposomal Ferric Pyrophosphate by LiposoMore™ is a high-performance iron supplement ingredient designed for modern health products. With enhanced bioavailability and excellent gastrointestinal tolerance, it delivers efficient iron replenishment without the common side effects. Its liposomal encapsulation ensures better absorption, making it ideal for use in clean-label food supplement formulations targeting broad nutritional needs.
Iron deficiency is a widespread nutritional concern affecting energy, cognition, and immunity. Liposomal Ferric Pyrophosphate offers superior absorption by bypassing typical intestinal breakdown processes, delivering iron efficiently into the bloodstream.
It helps restore healthy iron levels while reducing the dosage needed. This makes it an ideal base ingredient in daily-use iron supplements for both preventive care and mild-to-moderate deficiency correction.
Liposomal Ferric Pyrophosphate offers enhanced bioavailability by encapsulating iron in phospholipid layers, allowing for improved intestinal absorption, better cellular delivery, and reduced loss through gastrointestinal degradation.
Clinical study of bioavailability of liposomal ferric pyrophosphate
Grouping: 40 rats with iron deficiency anemia were randomly divided into 5 groups according to their weight to ensure comparability between groups.
Group A: Purified water was given.
Group B: Ordinary ferric pyrophosphate was gavaged at a dose of 2.8 mg/kg.d.
Group C: Liposomal ferric pyrophosphate was gavaged at a dose of 4.6 mg/kg.d.
Group D: Hemoglobin iron was gavaged at a dose of 30 mg/kg.d
Group E: Ferrous sulfate was gavaged at a dose of 3.0 mg/kg.d.
The hemoglobin and red blood cell count of rats were measured on the 0th, 5th, 11th, and 18th day after feeding. When the hemoglobin of rats in the ferrous sulfate group recovered and anemia returned to normal, feeding was stopped.
The bioavailability of ferrous sulfate in the recovery period of anemia in rats was 100%, and the bioavailability of other iron was converted based on this.
Group | Initial Hb-Fe(mg) | Final Bb-Fe(mg) | Hb-Fe(mg) Difference | RBA(%) |
B | 2.6±0.12 | 4.31±0.21 | 1.71±0.25 | 126% |
C | 2.59±0.3 | 4.66±0.24 | 2.07±0.29 | 152% |
D | 2.43±0.17 | 4.32±0.19 | 1.89±0.20 | 139% |
E | 2.55±0.12 | 3.19±0.18 | 1.36±0.16 | 100% |
Traditional iron forms often cause nausea, constipation, or stomach irritation. Liposomal Ferric Pyrophosphate is formulated to minimize these side effects through its phospholipid shielding.
The encapsulated structure reduces direct contact with the digestive lining, offering a more comfortable iron intake experience—especially important for prenatal women, elderly users, and individuals with sensitive digestion.
Iron requirements increase significantly during pregnancy and menstruation. Liposomal Ferric Pyrophosphate provides a well-tolerated, highly absorbable iron source suited for prenatal and women's health supplements.
It supports red blood cell production, oxygen transport, and fetal development without compromising gastrointestinal comfort, making it a valuable inclusion in multivitamin complexes and prenatal blends.
Thanks to its water-dispersible and taste-neutral profile, this ingredient is suitable for use in fortified foods, powdered drink mixes, and functional beverages. It can be seamlessly integrated into daily nutrition formats without affecting texture or flavor.
This flexibility is essential for brands developing convenient, on-the-go health products.
Liposomal Ferric Pyrophosphate is a clean-label, allergen-free ingredient suitable for vegan, gluten-free, and soy-free products.
Its safety and tolerability profile makes it appropriate for use across age groups—from children’s growth formulas to senior wellness supplements—addressing iron needs at every life stage with high formulation adaptability.
